How argan oil can help clients who suffer with sensitive skin conditions

Argan oil is a remedy for sensitive skin conditions such as acne and eczema, explains Sal Essa, founder of Maison D'argan:

Argan oil is known as the oil from Morocco that gives hair a frizz-free shine but it’s also a remedy for sensitive skin conditions such as acne and eczema and those with scar tissue.

For centuries, argan oil has been produced in Morocco from the fruit of the Argania Spinosa tree. The oil is rich in omega 6, oleic and linoleic fatty acids, which provide strong moisturising and absorbent properties to dry and sensitive skin. It’s also good for anyone who is prone to acne due to a deficiency in linoleic acid, regulating healthy sebum production and skin regeneration.

Unadulterated argan oil is also packed with vitamins A and E, which possess anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants. For people with eczema, such properties can prevent inflammation and alleviate symptoms like itching by restoring lost hydration to the skin’s barrier function.

Help clients who suffer with dry and sensitive skin by incorporating pure argan oil into your treatments, for example to nourish after exfoliation in a facial, as well as offering it on your retail stand so customers can continue to use it at home.

However, it is vital that the oil you use is unrefined, pure and has traceability. I advise going to a brand that manufactures at the source, ethically and without dependence on middlemen.

Sal Essa is founder of Maison D’argan, which makes ethically sourced argan oil for the hair, face and body.
