Habia announces beauty apprenticeship workshops
Habia is to hold a series of workshops to keep beauty therapy schools and salons updated with the major changes to apprenticeships, which come into force this year. The workshops will focus on simplifying and explaining the Apprenticeship, Skills, Children and Learning Act (ASCL) and the new Specification for Apprenticeship Standards for England (SASE). The changes will mean new frameworks, certificates, requirements and processes. Habia's four half-day workshops will be held in Doncaster on May 12 and London on May 19 and are free to Habia member schools or £99 to anyone else. They will be run by Andrew Darby, deputy chief executive of Habia, who is responsible for policy, and Carolynne Hanson, learning frameworks officer at Habia, who is responsible for apprenticeships. The workshops will look at the new frameworks in detail including how the personal, learning and thinking modules have been mapped, what was in the activity costing model used by the Skills Funding Agency and future developments in apprenticeships in England.
