LCBT to attempt manicure world record
The London College of Beauty Therapy (LCBT) is planning to break the Guinness World Record for the highest number of file and polish manicures carried out in eight hours. Having created the record in 2010, LCBT was beaten by an Australian organisation last September. This year over 150 trainee therapists from the central London college will attempt to file and polish the nails of 3,000 volunteers nails in just eight hours. This would be a massive 1,103 more than in 2010. The event in May will also raise money for cancer charity The Eve Appeal and children's charity Rays of Sunshine. In addition to receiving a mini manicure using Toma nail polish, volunteers can collect a free goodie bag. LCBT chief executive Eileen Cavalier said: 'We had such fun two years ago and can't wait for it to be even bigger this time round with a great line up of celebrities and sponsors.' Take part in the attempt by pitching up for a free file and polish on May 10, between 11am and 7pm at LCBT, Marlborough Street.
