SpaFinder launches wellness division
SpaFinder has launched a Corporate Wellness Division, an initiative that offers businesses spa incentives for their employees, which are also aligned with healthcare objectives. The spa marketing and gifting company developed the concept following several studies suggesting that employer healthcare costs are spiralling. One study revealed that 66% of large businesses worldwide have now implemented an employee wellness strategy, with 90% of those business located in the US. SpaFinder will allow businesses to offer their employees 'Wellness Currency', which they can redeem against fitness and stress-reduction classes such as yoga, pilates and meditation, and spa visits delivered through SpaFinder's network of spas, as well as visits to wellness experts including nutritionists and other complementary medicine practitioners. SpaFinder has appointed Betty Weinkle as vice president of Corporate Wellness as of today (May 1) to spearhead the initiative. Weinkle's previous roles include vice president at IntellSpend Prepaid Solution and director of corporate sales for ecommerce site The Sharper Image. She said: 'Wellness programmes encourage employees to proactively take care of themselves and prevent disease and absenteeism, and SpaFinder's programme will help drive healthcare costs down while increasing productivity and lifting morale.'
