Qualification launched to prevent underage treatment and product sales
A new qualification has been created to help aesthetic clinics and beauty salons avoid treating underage clients.
Stockport-based social enterprise Under Age Sales has launched the BTEC Level 2 Award in Preventing Under Age Body Modification.
Under Age Sales, which usually advises retailers of age-restricted products, created the course for staff working in tanning shops, beauty salons, tattoo shops and clinics.
It is also aimed at those who offer chiropody, teeth whitening, reflexology, massage, waxing and laser treatment
The qualification is aimed at those working in England and Wales and is awarded by EdExcel. It will cover current legislation on the sale of age-restricted goods and services, as well as how to prevent unlawful sales.
The course will be available via distance learning, classroom, in store and e-learning and will result in a Unit Credit issued under QCF Level 2.
