Attracting a total of 20,111 visitors from the beauty, health and spa sectors over the course of two days (October 14-15), Professional Beauty North has once again cemented its position as a leading industry event.

The more than 400 exhibitors present at the Manchester Central show included the biggest names in skincare, nails, tanning, spa, medical aesthetics and equipment and supplies. Among the many brands represented on the busy show floor were Thalgo, Decleor, Elemis, CACI, NSI, LDN: SKINS, Fake Bake and Dermalogica, to name just a few.

New to Professional Beauty North this year, the Education Village featured nine different conferences, each with panels and presentations where attendees could listen to and interact with experts from across the beauty, spa and health industries, take place over the two days. The Retail Conference, Aesthetic Medicine Conference, New Trends Conference and Social Media Conference were among those held under the Education Village umbrella.

Among the interesting topics comprising the Spa Owner and Management Conference on Sunday October 14 were the Transition from Pampering to Wellbeing, Creating Exceptional Spa Experiences and Leadership and Motivating your Spa Team panels and presentations.

Liz Holmes, spa director at Rockliffe Hall in Darlington, who spoke on the subject of Creating Exceptional Spa Experiences and sat on the Transition from Pampering to Wellbeing panel said: “The Spa Owner and Management Conference was not only a great networking event, it addressed some of the most important issues facing spas today. The Transition from Pampering to Wellbeing panel covered a current and interesting topic and demonstrated the genuine interest from spas wishing to offer their clients something more.”

Maxine Stead, managing director of Alexandra House Holistic Health and Wellbeing Spa in Huddersfield, commented that: “I found Professional Beauty to be an inspiring event. It’s a great opportunity to meet existing suppliers and to source potential new suppliers face to face. The conferences provided an opportunity to learn from experts in the industry and as a panel member, it was great to meet other spa owners and to share experiences and ideas for future developments within the industry.”

Catherine Ferma, spa director at PZ Cussons added that: “As always, Professional Beauty North has this year has provided opportunities for businesses to showcase their developments and review up and coming national and regional trends.

Buzzing with activity, six workshops − in makeup, waxing, nails, tanning, laser and skin and eye-care − were held on the Live Stage during the two-day show.
