The UK beauty industry has secured new SIC codes for the first time since 1948, giving hair, beauty and spa services their own official classifications. The change is set to improve industry visibility, data accuracy and government support for professionals across the sector.

The UK government launched the £5 billion "Pride in Place" programme as part of their Plan for Change to regenerate communities – supporting local businesses, high streets, and service sectors.
