Karen Betts named Woman of the Year at Everywoman awards
Karen Betts, micropigmenatation specialist and founder of Nouveau Beauty Group, has been awarded the title of Natwest’s Everywoman of the Year 2014.
The award is the flagship category in the Everywoman awards scheme, which has now run for 12 years and aims to champion the success of female entrepreneurs in the UK.
Betts said, “I was overwhelmed to have been recognised as a worthy finalist amongst so many inspirational women. To actually be awarded the overall achievement of Woman of the Year 2014 still has not sunk in.
“My co-diretors, staff and I have worked tirelessly over the last 15 years to change the misconception of permanent cosmetics.”
Judges described Betts as “phenomenal”, saying the award recognised the success of her businesses, which turnover £7million and employ 182 staff.
Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of Everywoman, said, “It takes a bold and gutsy individual to start a business and today’s winners are all women with vision and determination, qualities that have contributed to their success. They not only fly the flag for British business, but are role models for future generations of entrepreneurs.”
