Botox tops global chart of aesthetic procedure
Botulinum Toxin Type A remained the most popular non-surgical procedure in 2011, with 38.1% of the market, according to new data.
Despite still topping the charts as most popular, the new figures from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) show that its market share has decreased slightly from 38.8% in 2010.
Lipoplasty, was shown to be the most popular surgical procedure with 19.9% in 2011, growing from 19.2% in 2010.
The study also showed that the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, and Italy rank as the top five dominant countries for surgical procedures.
Global Study of Aesthetic/Cosmetic Surgery Procedures Performed in 2011 invited approximately 20,000 plastic surgeons to participate.
