Guinot opens first UK franchise salon
The first Guinot franchise salon has opened in in Darlington this week.
The salon, run by franchisee Marie Jordan, has been designed in line with the brand's franchise concept, which is already used in France.
The salon opening marks the first step in Guinot's ambitious plans for several branded salons across the UK, as first announced in Professional Beauty in 2011.
Jordan also secured a High Street Innovation Fund of £3,000 from the local council as a contribution towards business rates.
The official launch took place on Sunday (March 23) where Darlington’s Mayor and Mayoress cut the ribbon and the town Crier was also there to announce opening offers and invite local residents to visit the salon.
The Mayor of Darlington, councillor Paul Baldwin, said, “The salon has made a bright addition to the mix of businesses already on High Row. I am delighted that, through the council, the High Street Innovation Fund has been able to give assistance to the business.”
Guinot's franchise model works on a five-year agreement, allowing franchisees to renew on a five-year basis, and requires an investment of approximately £20,000.
The scheme allows applications from existing salons wanting to rebrand, as well as individuals aspiring to open new salons.
Guinot opened its own company-run salon as a pilot site for the franchise scheme in July 2011, and employed Nigel Dawson as franchise manager in June 2012.
