Why personalisation in beauty is set to be big

Want to offer bespoke treatments to your clients but not sure where to start?

In our exclusive video, Fiona Brackenbury, education director for French skincare brand Decléor, explains how you can tap into the personalisation trend and reveals simple ways to implement it in your salon or spa.

“As a therapist, this trend really hits home for us because when somebody comes in to have a treatment we can no longer be the same person,” explains Brackenbury. “We need that individualisation and personalisation – everything needs to be about being bespoke.”

In the video, Brackenbury answers your key questions about making personalisation work:

  • How can I personalise treatments for clients?
  • What questions should I ask?

From how to implement it on your treatment menu, to tailoring the consultation process and client care, Brackenbury explains the small and big gestures that can make all the difference.

“[In consultation you need to ask the client] how are you sleeping? Today do you feel like you’re lethargic and need more energy? Or do you feel that you’ve had a hectic day and just want to relax?,” says Brackenbury.

“I really champion [personalisation] as I want therapists to be able to go – ‘I’m not just going to follow protocol and do these steps, actually I’m going to show my expertise and make this treatment a one off,” she adds.

In a separate video with PB, Brackenbury reveals how you can treat pigmentation and pollution damage in salon. Make sure to also check out our beauty trends video, which reveals the hottest treatments and techniques for 2017.
