Tried & tested: Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift facial

After one of the most relaxing days I’ve had in a long time (not to mention a wonderful overnight stay and great food!), I was treated to an Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Facial at The Y Spa at Wyboston Lakes. A blissful post-nap facial was just what I needed to round off my stay and keep me dosed up on zen before heading back into London, and Lauren, my therapist, didn’t disappoint.

After a quick consultation and chat about my skin and current regime, Lauren started by wrapping and squeezing my feet in warm flannels, gently pulling me into alignment.  She made sure my hairline was fully protected by wrapping it with a twisted towel, which I really appreciated seeing as I had just washed and blow-dried. My skin was cleansed with the dreamy Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, swept with a light toner and given a warm lavender compress as I sunk into full, floaty relaxation.

Next, Lauren massaged Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules over my face and eyes to help detox, and then removed this with lime-infused exfoliating mitts. Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Serum was next, and Hydra Gel Eye Masks were applied to my under-eyes. This was particularly soothing for a glasses-wearer and full time computer user.  My favourite part of the treatment came next – the Quartz Lift Peel Off Mask. I could hear Lauren mixing up this salon-only product behind me, which added a kind of bespoke feel to the facial that continued as she delicately painted the thick, cool, beautifully-scented cream onto my face. It was instantly soothing and comfortable despite being a bit chilly (she did warn me), and didn’t feel too tight as it was drying. While the mask got to work for ten minutes, Lauren started a dreamy scalp massage, which I had no idea I needed so badly – it felt like she was literally melting the tension away from the skull. Marks were also awarded for asking me before the treatment if I’d prefer her not to use oils in my hair, which I did.

After peeling off the mask in one go, she cleansed again with the mitts, this time infused with rosewood. The wonderful light massage continued on my arms and hands as Exotic Cream Moisturising Mask (which really does smell gorgeously exotic) sunk in for five minutes. Then followed removal and application of toner, serum, Pro-Collagen Eye Renewal, Lifting Treatment Neck and Bust Cream and, finally, Marine Cream to moisturise. The treatment is clinically proven to reduce wrinkles and improve skin firmness, but I’d recommend it for anyone who simply wants to give their skin some luxurious TLC and be thoroughly pampered with indulgent products.
