Claudia is a Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner, Colonic Hydrotherapist and owns the Claudia McGloin Clinic. She kindly answered our questions about the Aesthetic industry and her talk on the Advanced Treatment Live Stage at Professional Beauty Ireland.

PB: Why do you think events such as this are important for the industry?

CM: To highlight the various treatments available and to update on any changes in the industry.

PB:Which are the biggest challenges currently facing the Aesthetic Medicine industry?

CM: Getting regulations in place for a safer industry.

PB: Which industry trends do you think will be big in 2014?

CM: Stem Cells!

PB: What can the Aesthetic Medicine industry do to remain profitable in the recession?

CM: Continue offering safe treatments and not offering discounts on cheaper products!

PB: In which way can the Aesthetic Medicine industry make a difference to people's lives?

CM:  By offering Non Surgical and Minimally Invasive procedures with less downtime but equally good results as Surgical Procedures.

PB: What will you be covering as part of the Advanced Treatment Live stage?

CM: Osteoarthritis and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) otherwise known as Dracula Therapy for treatment of Osteoarthritis in Joints. Osteoarthritis is a common condition that effects both men and women in Ireland. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) otherwise known as Dracula Therapy is one of the treatments used for treating Osteoarthritis at the Claudia McGloin Clinic.
Platelet Rich Plasma uses your own blood that contains Pre Stem Cells, that is activated and injected back into the body. This treatment is 100% safe and effective and you won't reject it as it's your own blood!

Claudia McGloin qualified from Anglia Ruskin University and has over 18 years nursing experience. She has worked in some of London's top NHS hospitals and has gained valuable clinical experience, skills and knowledge in a variety of clinical settings and at varying levels of seniority throughout her career.
In 2009, Claudia became an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner. She moved back to Ireland in December 2011 and set up the Claudia McGloin Clinic in Sligo. Shortly after that she set up The Vein Clinic Ireland a sister to the Claudia McGloin Clinic which is dedicated to the treatment of Varicose and Thread Veins. She also set up Medical Aesthetic Courses for training doctors and nurses.
Currently, Claudia is the only medical practitioner to offer Dracula PRP Therapy in Ireland. She trained with the world renowned, Leading Expert and Pioneer of PRP treatments Dr Daniel Sister.
