Do you have what it takes to be one of the top make-up artists in the country?
Put your skills to the test in our highly competitive North Warpaint Championships, taking place on September 19 as part of the Professional Beauty North show in Manchester Central.
Industry recognition, prizes and more awaits the winners of these five categories, but you’ve got to be in it to win it.
This year’s categories are:
Film & TV – Britain in The Blitz
Time allowed: two hours
We’re looking for the most iconic character from the period 1941–1944. For this category you will need to do a little research on the clothing and artillery of the period to make sure when you make-up an injured character it’s relevant.
Runway – The 1980’s
Time allowed: two hours
Be inspired by the biggest stars and trends of the decade, combining your fashion and editorial skills. This category combines nails, hair, make-up and style, so go ahead and show us your icon of the 1980s.
Real Beauty – The Female Boss
Time allowed: 2 hours, with a break at 90 minutes to photograph the first look
This category shows the issues women face every day, having limited time and products to transform themselves from daytime to evening glam. The transformation should include both make-up and hair.
Bodypainting – The United Stated of America
Time allowed: five hours
This category will be split between professional and students so everyone is judged fairly. The final work needs to be a combination of costume, headpiece and paint. The two UK’s leading names will judge this category – Jennie Roberts and Catriona Finlayson.
#InstaWarpaint – Alice in Wonderland
Showcase your work and originality using photo composition and interpretation on one of the most popular social media channels, Instagram using the hashtag #InstaWarpaint.
