FHT launches campaign to promote the power of complementary therapies

A new campaign from FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) aims to promote the benefits of complementary therapies and encourage clients to use its Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register.

Using the tagline “My therapist helps me…” the ads use testimonials from clients who receive regular complementary therapies from FHT therapists to help them cope with and work through medical issues.

The first in the series features a client called Helen who has been receiving treatment from Alison Brown for 12 years for problems including arthritis and stress.

FHT president Paul Battersby said he wants the campaign to speak to people who have been living with long-term health issues for a while and are not aware of how much complementary therapies could help.

FHT’s accredited register is independently approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. The first run of ads is due to appear in national publications including Psychologies, Natural Health and Your Healthy Living, with online advertising also planned.

Battersby commented: “We know the very real difference these therapies can make to a person’s day-to-day life. But how can we get this message across effectively to the other tens of thousands of people who could benefit? And more importantly, how can we signpost these people to a professional therapist, who is appropriately qualified, insured and accountable? We are confident that our new campaign, which features real clients and therapists, who real people can identify with, will go a long way to address this.”
