On Saturday, June 13, 2020, the ninth annual Global Wellness Day (GWD) celebration was helpd online, focusing on mental health, stress, immunity, nutrition, indoor exercises, love and compassion.
GWD 2020 offered wellness activities livestreaming for 24 hours across all its social media platforms from sunrise to sunset around the globe.
GWD showcased a range of educational and complementary presentations — ranging from wingsuit base jump to dance, astrology, yoga, pilates, Zumba, nutrition and plant-forward cooking classes on its YouTube channel.
I was excited to be invited to be one of the key performers, this year, hosting a yoga session at 1pm UK time.
I teach vinyasa flow, working with the breath, weaving in poetry, taking students deeper into postures and their practice. Leaving my classes, you feel as if you’ve had a reset. If you missed my class, it will be available to watch back soon via the Global Wellness Day YouTube channel.
Belgin Aksoy founded Global Wellness Day in 2012, with the slogan “One day you can change your whole life”.
GWD is celebrated around the world today in more than 150 countries across seven continents, all participating with complementary activities that support wellness.
