Nutrition guru Neil Grimmer to keynote at GWS

Healthy eating champion and Habit founder Neil Grimmer will share his mission to change the world through food at the Global Wellness Summit.

The October summit, “Shaping the Business of Wellness” will focus on the future trends for the ten diverse segments that make up the global wellness economy, including the $648 billion healthy eating, nutrition and weight loss sector.

Grimmer, who has been campaigning to change the “one size fits all” approach of the multi-billion-dollar diet industry, made his first foray into food and nutrition when he co-founded Plum Organics.

The company disrupted the baby food aisle by replacing traditional prepared foods with a fresh, organic, alternative.

After the success of Plum, Grimmer found himself overweight and at risk of long-term health issues. He sold the business in 2013 and his personal journey prompted the founding of Habit, a personalised nutrition company that delivers a nutritional blueprint to guide eating choices for life.

“Neil is on a mission to change the world through food and is the living embodiment of his work. His passion for holistic health and wellness – and how to achieve it – will no doubt inspire summit delegates,” said Susie Ellis, chairman and chief executive officer of the GWS.

In addition to his business successes, Grimmer was recently named Innovator of the Year by Nutrition Business Journal. He is the recipient of an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, a fellow at the Aspen Institute and can be seen talking about personalised nutrition in his popular TEDx Talk "Food Just Got Personal".
