Revealed: 10 wellness tools that clients are adding to their beauty routines
With the past 18 months having heavily impacted everyone both physically and mentally, it’s no surprise that there’s been a huge surge for at-home wellness tools to help bring more balance to consumers routines during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Topping the search list for wellness tools over the past 12 months (February 2021–February 2022) is sauna blankets, which are designed to comfort sore muscles and help consumers feel calmer, with a 20,600% increase in Google searches, found research by online retailer Cult Beauty.
This was closely followed by face tools, which hug the curves of the face and neck to increase blood circulation and smooth the skin, with a 6,200% rise in the same time period. This is great news for salons and spas as rose quartz and jade rollers are ideal items to retail to clients post-treatment to keep up their professional results.
Handheld percussive massage therapy tools, known as massage guns, which help speed up recovery post-workout have also soared in popularity. The tools are the third most searched for wellness tool, with Google searches soaring 4,000% in the same time period, showing how the fitness, spa and wellness worlds are continuing to blur.
It’s no surprise that Gua Sha, sometimes called “scraping” therapy, and Cryo ice globes also made the top five – with an 3,900% and 2,000% increase in Google searches respectively – as these tools have been promoted by therapists for years for their ability to help sculpt the face.
It seems that clients are investing more across the board on their at-home self-care rituals, with spend on high-end skincare having increased post-pandemic too.
