Spa London plans major expansion and rebrand

Spa London is set to rebrand ahead of a national roll out that will see the day spa group almost double in size this year.

From this spring, it will be renamed Spa Experience by Better. Better is a trading name of Greenwich Leisure, the not-for-profit organisation which owns the Spa London brand and also operates the leisure centres in which many of its current spas are located. Spa London will then open four new spas in areas outside of London, including Taunton in June, Belfast in September, Bath by the end of the year, plus one more site yet to be announced. There will also be an additional London spa opened in Waltham Forest in November.

Spa London business group manager Melissa Evans said the changes were the result of demand from partner organisations for the brand to replicate its spa model in new locations. “Rebranding is first and foremost a practical decision. We’ll be expanding far beyond our London heartland and felt our original name would no longer reflect our offer,” added Evans. “Inclusivity for all is one of the cornerstones of the business, reflecting the social enterprise ethos of our parent organisation Better.”

The company will also be partnering with nail brand Essie and skincare range Murad in 2016, with plans to roll their treatments out across all its spas. Spa London was founded by a not-for-profit social enterprise and currently has seven sites in London.
