VTCT acquires examination board ITEC

Beauty and health industry qualifications awarding organisation VTCT has acquired examination board ITEC.

VTCT announced the acquisition with a view to enhancing the services offered by both organisations to benefit education centres and learners, and enable VTCT to maintain high standards and quality assurance in the beauty-related industries it caters to.

Alan Woods OBE, VTCT CEO said the move would help the organisation meet its goals to develop its portfolio of qualifications in the beauty, spa, complementary therapy and related industries, adding, “We were keen to acquire ITEC not only because it’s highly respected in our sector, but crucially it also shares our values and ambitions, placing strong emphasis on quality assurance, learner success, employer recognition and exceptional customer service.

“We’re very excited about the strong international profile ITEC brings, along with a rigorous and highly reliable examination approach which contrasts well with VTCT’s assessment models, allowing all of our approved centres to choose how they would like their learners assessed.”

Woods said there would be no changes to VTCT’s service to existing education centres and learners and that support would continue as usual.

College heads and lecturers can get up to date with the latest changes in the education sector and network with peers at the Education Forum at Professional Beauty London 2017. The half-day conference will take place on Monday, February 27. Online booking will be available soon here. Tickets are £10 per person and include a networking lunch and goody bag from sponsor Eve Taylor.
