World Wellness Weekend gains traction in 52 countries

World Wellness Weekend, which takes place on September 22 and 23, now has 52 countries listed on its World Wellness Map, from Algeria, Argentina and Australia, to Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

World Wellness Weekend is a non-profit initiative that encourages all wellness-related properties around the world to register online, free of charge, to showcase the talent and passion of their teams, by organising fun and creative wellness activities, open to the public and free of charge, on the third weekend in September.

Spa properties and groups confirmed to participate include Bulgari, Corinthia, Deep Nature, GOCO Retreats & Spas, Kamalaya Sanctuary, Langham Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Marriott, MSpas, Rocco Forte, Sandals, Shangri La and Six Senses.

Jean-Guy De Gabriac, founder of consulatancy Tip Touch International and coordinator of the World Wellness Weekend initiative, said: “I am passionate about raising awareness for wellness and also about encouraging spa and wellness professionals to raise the bar in guest experience.

“I’m delighted to report that, to date, World Wellness Weekend already has 35 associations supporting and spreading the word to their members, with the participation of numerous hotel groups and iconic properties. We also have eight ambassadors. To make online registration easy there are four languages on the website – English, French, Spanish, Italian and, very soon, German.

“One of World Wellness Weekend’s objectives is to remind people that, while health is a relationship between your body and a doctor; wellness is a responsible relationship between your body/mind and yourself.”
