5 easy salon marketing wins
Marketing is a constant pressure for salons and spas, and it can be hard to think up new ideas to keep clients coming through your doors.
Clare Cockell, owner of The Reef in Kent, suggests a variety of ways to keep things fresh, keep costs low and make sure new and existing clients come to your salon, as well as your website and social channels.
1. Think about upselling
"Remember to upsell," says Cockell, "Have a small retail section by the till to encourage last-minure puchases."
2. Create seasonal offers
"We have seasonal treatments for things like Mother's Day and Valentine's, and with those we also create limited-edition treatments," says Cockell. "They work really well because you don;t have to discount but you're creating your own bespoke treatments."
3. Think about your messaging
"It's important to have an idea of your branding so it flows throughout," says Cockell. "We always link everything up. For example, we retail gift vouchers and a few products on our website so whenever we're doing our monthly emails to promote treatments we'll always link it back to the website."
4. Invest in the right tools
"Canva is very popular and is something I couldn't live without now," says Cockell. "It's a really easy way to make your marketing look really professional and we use that with Pexels, which is free images you can use alongside."
5. Collaborate with local businesses
"It's good to get out in the community and make links with other businesses but make sure they fit your ethos," says Cockell.
