An international, multi award winning stylist with a host of accolades earned throughout his career thus far. Brian Leo McCallum is the head of renowned salons ROAR Strathbungo, Giffnock Hair and Beauty and Muirend. With a passion for outstanding hairdressing and a flair for even better customer service.
Brian’s awards include Creative Colourist Bronze Award at the Global Creative Awards 2022, Best Colour Technician in Scotland 2021/2022, Colourist of the Year at the 2021 and 2020 at the Salon Awards, Creative Image of the Year winner at the 2020 Salon Awards and Best Hair Consultant Scotland 2020 at the Lux Health, Beauty & Wellness Awards. Just this year, Brian was announced as an International finalist at America’s Beauty Show Global Image Awards. The ROAR salons have also won a vast number of awards over the year’s including more recently, Best Colour Salon, Best New Salon, Best Salon Team and Most Sustainable Salon at the 2023 Salon Awards. They are also a finalist for Colour Salon and Green Salon in the 2024 Salon Business Awards.
In his natural habitat, on the salon floor, Brian is the master of colour. With a Goldwell Colour Master degree there is no colour requirement too daunting. His expertise lie within colour correction and Leo prides himself on his ability to work to any client brief, confidently. Brian sites his love of making guests look and feel fantastic as his greatest motivation. Each ROAR guest receives an individually designed cut, bespoke colour and tailor-made home hair care plan as standard.
Recognised and admired by his peers in the hairdressing industry, Brian has presented at numerous industry shows/seminars and educated fellow hairdressers across the country. Brian is the UK & IRE Educator for Goldwell and started his journey with Goldwell when he was 21 and was one of the first educators who was employed by the company. Brian then went travelling before returning to be a freelance Educator for Goldwell, alongside a UK specialist for Kerasilk, and teaches courses regularly including the Master Colorist course across Scotland, Ireland and North England.
Brian has also appeared on national daytime television to share his expertise with the nation. His career highlight is working alongside fashion mogul, Gok Wan and styling some top celebrity hair.
