Experts at Fresha have officially named 12:30pm on December 14 as the optimum time and day to book in a pre-Christmas nail appointment for nails that will last across the whole festive period.
In the past month, 27,000 online searches have been made for "Christmas nails" in the UK, according to Fresha. A 367% increase from previous months, as people begin to plan ahead for their Christmas beauty treatments.
Why is Thursday, December 14, the best day for Christmas nail appointments?
Office Christmas parties typically fall on the Thursday or Friday of the second week in December, which is December 14 and 15 in 2023. Many clients love to get their nails done for this occasion.
Additionally, nails done on the 14 December will be fresh for festive days out, the big day itself and should last for New Year’s Eve celebrations, too.
With excellent prep and application gel, acrylic and Biab can stretch up to four weeks of wear. Three weeks following 14 December is the 4th of January when salons reopen following the holidays so around this date, many clients will be looking to book in for infills or to remove festive nails and start fresh.
Additionally, Thursday is the UK’s favourite day for a beauty treatment according to Fresha with the majority (21%) of all bookings falling on a Thursday.
With most people allowed an hour-long lunch break, Fresha also found that 12pm to 2pm is proving to be a popular time for beauty treatments this year, whether it’s for nails, facials or massages.
Trying to get an appointment before Christmas is notoriously difficult for clients, so now is a great time to think about ways to ramp up your services and encourage pre-booking.
The stats were revealed as part of Fresha's Future of Beauty and Wellness 2024 report.
