Treatwell, the beauty and wellness booking and management software company, has appointed Claire Davenport as its new chief executive.

Davenport replaces Giampiero Marinò in the CEO role. She joins Treatwell from Not On The High Street, where she was chief executive for three years, holding the position alongside a non-executive director role at reviews website Trustpilot.

Prior to those roles, she gained experience in the investment banking sector with companies such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase, before taking on leadership positions in digital companies including communications business Skype and subscription meal brand HelloFresh.

Today (November 29), Davenport has taken the helm at Treatwell, leading the company across more than 13 countries and managing a group of over 800 employees.

Treatwell, which is the headline sponsor of the upcoming Professional Beauty London show at ExCeL London on March 3–4, said Davenport is set to lead Treatwell into a new era of growth and innovation.

Treatwell said Davenport’s appointment comes at a time of seismic shifts in the beauty industry including dramatic changes in the economy; the growing role of social media; increased accessibility and competition; and the emergence of medispas alongside more traditional beauty.

Davenport said, "I am thrilled to be joining Treatwell at this pivotal moment. The opportunity to make beauty services more accessible and convenient for people, and support salons' prosperity, aligns with my drive to simplify and streamline everyday life - for both consumers and businesses - through the power of technology“.

Treatwell said its primary focus will remain on investing in, and enhancing its product and technology to fuel growth.

Andrea Piccioni, chairman of Real Web, the majority shareholder of Treatwell, said, "We welcome Claire to lead the next phase of growth at Treatwell, in this fast-moving digital industry."

He added, "Her mandate is to leverage our unique hair and beauty marketplace whilst strengthening relationships with our professional salon partners and delighting our treatment-loving customers.”
