Nail Competitions at Professional Beauty and Hair Glasgow 2024

Professional Beauty and Hair Glasgow will be bringing the nail competitions for the first time to recognise nail techs talent and creativity in Scotland. Competitors will have the chance to show off their skills and battle it out for the chance to raise their profile in the industry.

Competition Overview

InstaNail Photographic (Student and Nail Professionals)

Theme: Celebrations
Entry Deadline: Friday 31st of May 2024 at 5pm

Create a photo you would be proud to showcase on your skills and Business. This image could showcase you, your skills, and your creativity. You can use the tips from your entry for Mixed Media Boxed Art, so why not enter both comps!

Online Public Vote: Opens Wednesday 5th June of 2024 April at 2pm

The winners will be announced on a live from our Facebook Group (The FNP & Pro Beauty Competition Group) at 5pm on Monday 17th of June. All trophies and medals will be sent by post.

Mixed Media Boxed Art (Student and Nail Professionals)

Theme: Celebrations
Entry Deadline: Monday 10th of June 2024 at 10am

Create 10 and display nail tips of your choice in in this fun and creative off-floor nail competition. Nails to be designed on 5 varying sized nail tips and placed together. Art on the nails must not exceed 1 inch / 2.5cm in height from the surface of the nail.

Please make a video of your entry no longer than 3 minutes, zooming into each nail so we can see details and ensure you also send a step-by-step description. Please send your video and description to [email protected] Deadline is 10am on Monday 10th of JUNE 2024.
Please do not hand in your entry at the show. 

Level and Competition Overview

Student - any person that is currently enrolled in their first course or education pathway to become a qualified nail professional or who has qualified as a nail professional within the last 24 months.  (Evidence may be required at point of initial registration to compete and may be requested at the registration desk on competition day – (digital evidence on phone is satisfactory). You will be judged at student level

Professional – any nail technician whether a professional or an educator that has been qualified for more than 1 year
As well as naming winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) in each category, the competition will reward the nail tech with the overall highest score, giving points accumulated for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements, over two days of competition including any InstaNail and catwalk showcase entries. 

This means that the more competitions you are placed in, the better chance you have to be named overall winner.

Note: There has to be a more than 3 competitors in each category to be considered for a championship.
