National Nail Tech Price Increase Day to launch in April 2024

8th April 2024 is set to be the first ‘National Nail Tech Price Increase Day,’ an initiative launched by The Nail Tech Org to help nail pros grow and scale.

From a study conducted of their community, The Nail Tech Org found that most nail techs were charging around £30-40 for a set of nails. This price has become somewhat of an industry standard… But, once you deduct costs that’s only around £7 an hour profit which is less than minimum wage...

“It’s not sustainable. Inflation is all around us and the price of a set of nails has not increased for many years. It’s not sustainable,” said Amy Guy the organisation’s founder.

To solve this industry problem Nail techs have decided to come together on the 8th of April to increase their prices on the same day.

“As we come together to raise our prices simultaneously, [we are] sending a resounding message about the value of our skills and the dedication we bring to our clients, thus eliminating the fear of doing it alone,” says Guy.

“If we all raise our prices at the same time, we create a new normal. A normal that pays us a fair wage for the work that we do and the services that we provide. This isn’t just a campaign; it’s a movement towards empowering nail technicians like yourself to run not just a successful, but also a sustainable business.”

The Nail Tech Org has created a free pricing course for its members, which includes a current income calculator, pricing calculator and two masterclasses. It also includes email templates and a client communication kit to help share messages about price changes with clients.

Brands have been joining the chorus of nail techs supporting the movement.

"We at Dali support the current movement in our industry for nail technicians to collectively increase their prices as started by The Nail Tech Org.
The National Nail Tech Price increase day on 8th April marks the beginning of a more sustainable future for nail techs nationwide," said Dali Artistic in an Instagram statement.

Will you be putting your prices up this April? Let us know in the comments…
