4 body parts that age faster than you think

Let’s face it – ageing is inevitable. As we get older, skin becomes thinner and less elastic, which may result in wrinkles or sagging skin.

Clients may be wondering how to slow ageing, but don’t forget that ageing is natural and a part of life. While you can use skincare products to minimise clients’ wrinkles and signs of ageing, we always want to emphasise the importance of self-love, no matter how many wrinkles they have or may want to get rid of.

We want to encourage habits to keep skin looking healthy, which can slow signs of ageing to help you age healthily.

How stress can impact skin

Feeling stressed out can affect the skin in a variety of different ways, including acne, rashes, bags under your eyes and wrinkles.

When people are stressed, the body creates hormones and changes skin proteins that may result in physical changes to skin. The changes in proteins can reduce skin elasticity, which may play a part in wrinkle formation.

Stress can also cause people’s brows to furrow repeatedly, which can ultimately lead to forehead wrinkles.

An important way to reduce clients’ stress is to encourage them to #TakeAMoment and add self-care to busy days. Self-care can be enjoying a good book, going for a walk, or starting a new body care routine like the Shower & Empower sets

There’s no right or wrong way to practise self-care, and it’s an integral part of lowering stress levels, which can contribute to keeping healthy-looking skin.

Here are some body parts that show signs of ageing faster than your face – and tips on how Voesh products can help to keep skin looking healthy. It’s ultimately impossible to reverse the signs of ageing, so the next best ideas are spa treatments for ultimate self-care!

1. Neck

The skin on the neck tends to be one of the first body parts to show signs of ageing, because it is thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of the body.

Similar to the face, the neck and chest can also develop fine lines and wrinkles. That’s why these body parts require just as much attention as you give to your clients’ complexion.

Try suggesting to clients that they should use the same products they use in their daily skincare routine on their chest and neck.

If they don’t have a set skincare routine, they should moisturise day and night with a nourishing body cream, like the Velvet Luxe Vegan Hand and Body Crème. Infused with organic virgin olive oil and avocado oil, this luxurious crème will smooth, hydrate, and plump skin.

2. Hands

Did you know that our hands start ageing in our 20s? Because we use our hands for various tasks every day, they are always exposed to different elements that cause them to dry out and wrinkle.

Frequent hand washing also strips hands of moisture and natural oils, and sun damage can create sunspots and premature wrinkles.

We recommend moisturising hands every few hours with a hand cream like our Velvet Luxe Vegan Hand and Body Crème. This lightweight, non-greasy crème deeply hydrates and leaves skin feeling velvety soft.

Be sure to encourage clients to incorporate sunscreen into their daily routine and apply it all over their hands, but especially the back of their hands.

For a more intensive hydrating, spa-like treatment, our Collagen Gloves are the perfect remedy for dry, cracked hands. The dual-layer material locks in moisture, and the convenient design features removable fingertips for use of hands during wear.

They are enriched with argan oil and collagen-rich emulsion to repair and nourish extra dry skin in just 15 minutes. Collagen-rich emulsion boosts skin’s elasticity, giving it firmness and bounce, and argan oil revives dull skin and improves its natural glow.

3. Elbows

Elbows age quickly due to multiple factors, such as prolonged exposure to the sun, dryness, and loss of collagen.

Since elbows are mostly bone, there is not a lot of muscle or fat to plump up the area. They are constantly moving and bending, which stretches out the skin and causes it to droop.

If you are treating clients who have dark, dry or droopy elbows, our Youthful Therapy Elbow-High Gloves have got you covered. These vegan collagen long gloves moisturise, brighten, tighten and revive dry skin from the hands up to the elbows. Vegan collagen increases skin’s elasticity and niacinamide decreases hyperpigmentation for healthier-looking skin.

4. Knees

Similar to elbows, knees are essential to daily movement, which means they are often overworked—pressure put on your knees can contribute to stretching of skin and eventual wrinkles.

Knees also lose collagen and elasticity as you age, so make sure clients moisturise their knees as much as their elbows! This loss of skin elasticity is what leads to sagging skin and wrinkles.

To help rough knees retain moisture and improve their appearance, Velvet Luxe Vegan Hand and Body Crème will soothe and soften dry skin.

When it comes to ageing, there is no way to stop it, but with a healthy skincare regimen, your clients can keep their skin looking fresh, bright and healthy. The earlier they establish a routine, the better off they will be, and it can be a sign that they will age well. Help your clients to stay one step ahead and start a new regimen before they notice the appearance of ageing.
