Professional Beauty meets Guillaume Lefevre, co-founder of spa brand THÉMAÉ, who shares what’s in store for Professional Beauty visitors.

What is the background of the company and what type of products do you offer?

Established in 2007, THÉMAÉ is a face & body cosmetics and spa brand which finds its inspiration in the Art of Tea. As founders, Bertrand Thiery and myself used our expertise in the pharmaceutical and spa fields to explore the many virtues of the four existing types of tea around the world: black, green, white and rooibos or “red tea”. We studied the benefits of each tea in order to extract the best one for the well-being of body and skin care by combining them with spring water to maintain their purity.

We have one THÉMAÉ spa in Paris in the 1st district. Our brand is also present in prestigious partner spas in numerous countries across 5 continents: Shangri-La Hotel Paris, The Setai Miami Beach Hotel, Burj Al Arab Hotel Dubai, Andaz Tokyo, Four Seasons Marrakesh, …

What is your most popular product and what do you think makes it popular?

I would say that our massage balm is one of our very popular products. This rich and creamy balm, enhanced with the rejuvenating properties of black tea, immediately pampers and soothes the body… We have launched successfully our third massage balm called “Baume Délicieux, Thé en Orient” (with Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Patchouli and Ylang-Ylang).

What makes your products special over the competition?

THÉMAÉ, Japanese name for the tea preparation ceremony, is a unique tea based expert line of cosmetics & treatments for face and body. These sublime textures hold the promise of results and total wellbeing. The tea plant has over 30% of polyphenols (one of the highest levels of antioxidant concentration known) and contains antioxidants 200 times more potent than Vitamin E.

How cost effective are your products when introducing them into a salon?

Our cost per treatment are very competitive taking into account the quality that high-end Spas are looking for.

Do you provide any extra services, advice or training programs for professionals who use your products in their salons?

Yes of course this is part of our service. We believe that without service and training, there is no quality Spa treatments. Also, we have just launched in Paris The International SPA Academy by THÉMAÉ in partnership with the acclaimed French beauty school FRANCOISE MORICE.

Why should salon owners visit your stand at the show?

Are you having anything new on your stand at the show?

Yes, we will launch numerous new spa products and treatments as well as new hotel turn down offer including a new Tea Bag for Bath “Infusion O’Furo®” and our new THÉMAÉ Hotel Room Amenities Collection called  “Douceur de thé®” dedicated only to the 4 to 5 stars hotels looking for quality!

What tips would you give salon owners looking to introduce a new line into their salon?

Look extremely carefully at the quality of the products, the treatments and the trainings and even more at the quality of people: their real passion, their values and honesty, their level of commitment, their enthusiasm, their professionalism, their product supply efficiency, their attention to the details, their spa clients they are currently working with…

Anything else to share with Professional Beauty?

I am very pleased to share with you that in March we will have two great launches: our first THÉMAÉ Spa in franchise in Africa! It is part of the brand new five stars hotel La Badira (The Leading Hotels of the World – LHW), in Hammamet, Tunisia.

We will introduce THÉMAÉ at the new Four Seasons Hotel Spa in Moscow.
