Champneys to open fourth resort spa in Kent
Health spa chain Champneys is to add another property to its portfolio. Eastwell Manor in Ashford, Kent, is to become the newest Champneys health resort once the company takes over management on November 1.
While Champneys has not acquired Eastwell Manor the hotel, which was built between 1793 and 1799 on the Eastwell Park country estate, will be managed and run by the Champneys group and called Champneys Eastwell.
The hotel has been owned by the Parrett family since 1995 and currently has 15 treatment rooms, a 20m heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There is also a gym, outdoor pool and golf course among other facilities.
The company will aim to have fully made over the property in the Champneys style by summer 2017.
Champneys owner Stephen Purdew said: “The acquisition of Eastwell Manor is a major milestone for the Champneys group. As the original pioneers of health spa resorts in the UK we are delighted to be welcoming such a landmark property to the group and for Eastwell Manor to develop its own wellness credentials. We are continuing to look at our future growth and with recent investments in our signature properties we are very excited about wellbeing in the UK.”
