Day one of the World Spa & Wellness Convention under way in London

Today is the first day of the 2018 World Spa & Wellness Convention in London.

The two-day event, which continues tomorrow, sees two days of education, business insight and networking at the ExCeL London exhibition centre.

Annually attracting hundreds of top-level chairs, speakers and delegates from around the world, the World Spa & Wellness Convention is one of the leading global education and networking events for the international spa and wellness industry.

Each year, the convention attracts a delegate base of spa managers, directors and owners, as well as hoteliers and wellness resort operators who attend the event’s keynote sessions, panel discussions and creative networking sessions.

Among the sessions on this first day of the convention is the Tech Disruptors: Threats and Collaboration Opportunities in the Digital Market panel at 10.30am.

Speakers on this panel include Frank Pitsikalis, chief executive of Resort Suite, Jack Tang; founder of Urban Massage; and Garrett Mersberger, director of wellness and Kohler Waters Spas at Kohler.

Today will also feature a keynote with Andrew Gibson, vice president of wellness, luxury brands, at Accor Hotels; and Neil Jacobs, chief executive of Six Senses at 11.30am, on the topic of Make Wellness the Key to Repeat Business: approachable, affordable options for your clients and your team

Other sessions during the day will include The Rebirth of Fitness in Spa: Making your Wellbeing Offer Current, Accessible and Profitable, at 3.30pm.

Participants on this panel include Sharon Barcock, director of spa and fitness operations and development EMEA at Hilton Worldwide; and James Blower, international hospitality manager EMEA for Matrix Fitness.
