Glasgow art festival hosts pop-up nail bar
A pop-up nail bar-cum-art exhibit has opened in Glasgow this month as part of the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.
Artist Alistair Frost is better known for painting canvases than nails but has turned his talents to talons for the projects, which is taking place in a city-centre shop unit on Glasgow’s St Andrews Street until April 21.
Visitors can book an appointment to have a vinyl print of one of Frost’s designs affixed to their nails.
Popular designs include ’80s-style martini glasses, palm trees, lobster tails and smiley faces.
These motifs are taken from paintings and objects produced by Frost, which are installed throughout the space.
The festival organisers described the project as a “functional space, exhibition, showroom and performance work”.
