Lifetime Training to open five academies this year as it branches out into beauty
Training provider Lifetime Training, which operates in industries including fitness, is to introduce accredited beauty therapy qualifications through a fleet of new Lifetime Beauty Academies set to open this year.
Lifetime’s foray into the beauty industry comes as a result of demand from its current health club and hotel operator partners for better qualified and industry-ready therapists, said Mike Jones, commercial director at Lifetime Training. “We want to meet that need and transfer our education courses to beauty, which has a synergy with personal training and fitness where we already operate successfully,” he explained. “One of the main areas of feedback we got was that while people are coming into the industry with the practical knowledge and skills, they are missing the client communication and engagement, the service delivery and ability to up-sell product. Our programme focuses on making people more industry ready with that broader skill set.”
Initially Lifetime will offer Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy Diplomas, though the course offer is eventually set to grow, with advanced massage, nail technology and skincare options and Level 4 managerial courses planned for the future.
The courses will be offered through new Lifetime Beauty Academies. The first will open in Birmingham, Manchester and Brentwood, Essex, in early 2016, followed by London and Liverpool later in the year. Birmingham will be the first, with a March launch.
