2016 Global Wellness Summit to be held in Kitzbühel
The Global Wellness Summit (GWS) has announced that the 2016 event will be held in the KitzKongress events venue in Kitzbühel in the Austrian Tyrol.
The summit, taking place on October 17-19, will mark the 10th anniversary of the GWS and will be sponsored by Tourism Board Kitzbühel, Tirol Werbung and Wirtschaftskammer Tirol.
Kitzbühel is a medieval town that is popular with winter sports fans from around the world for its ski slopes.
Susie Ellis, chairman and chief executive of the GWS, said: “Tyrol, Austria is an amazing example of a destination that has centred its tourism initiatives around wellness, transforming the region from a single season, ski-only destination to a year-round wellness destination.
“The region has what wellness seekers want: natural surroundings full of remarkable beauty, fresh air, clean water, great local cuisine and plenty of outdoor space to stay active and in touch with nature. I can’t think of a better venue for our tenth anniversary Summit.”
The 2016 summit will be chaired by Espa founder and chief executive Sue Harmsworth and Austrian Franz Linser, founder and managing director of consulting firm Linser Hospitality.
