Marble is the most popular nail art design on Instagram

Marble nail art is the most popular nail trend on Instagram this year, with 1,832,896 hashtags about the design on the platform, revealed a report by OnBuy Body Care.

Futuristic-looking galaxy nails came in second place with 249,082 hashtags on the social media platform and the chic style of gradient nails coming third with 230,428 hashtags, the data found. 

The five most popular nail art trends of 2021 on Instagram are:

When it comes to which polish colours are most popular on the ’gram, it’s no surprise that glitter reigns supreme, with a staggering 9,398.396 hashtags.

Meanwhile, natural nails have come in second with 5,442,312 hashtags, and this could be the result of people going back to basics with their nails during lockdown, while pink took third place, with 4,869,376 hashtags on the hues alone.

It’s surprising that yellow has come in last place as it was named one of Pantone’s Colours of the Year for 2021. 

Methodology: OnBuy Body Care gathered a list of the most popular 2021 nail trends and then analysed the data on Instagram to find out how many hashtags there were for each trend. 

For example, for glitter nails, the following hashtags were taken into consideration: #glitternails, #glitternailsdesign and #glitternails.
