Online yoga class aimed at older participants launches

Online yoga studio Yoogaia.com has launched a yoga class specifically targeted at encouraging people of all ages to embrace the practice. The #AnyAgeYoga class is targeted at people wishing to work on their strength, muscle tone and flexibility, regardless of ages.

The class combines traditional yoga poses with variations that have been adapted to allow more frail yoga-goers to join the class. The class is taught by London-based yoga teacher Hilda Silver, who has more than 40 years’ yoga expertise.

Silver said: “As we get older, our bodies become less flexible and movement is limited.

“Gentle yoga exercises slow down the ageing process whilst creating a more positive and peaceful mindset. Everyone, no matter what stage of life they are at, can benefit from this.”

The class features a number of moves and poses suitable for older participants and newcomers to yoga.

Yoogaia’s founder Mikko Petäjä said: “For once technology can be used to bring generations together rather than separate them.  Yoogaia is proud to introduce this class to our timetable and to open up the world of yoga to another generation.”
