Q&A: Michelle Regazolli Stone, MRS Make-Up

Michelle Regazolli Stone
MRS Make-Up

With over 11 years' industry experience, Michelle Regazolli Stone is one of the most well established make-up artists in Ireland and the UK. Having painted the faces of celebrities such as Rosanna Davison and Towie girls Samantha and Billie Faiers, we couldn’t wait to ask Michelle all about her experience and beauty secrets.

What inspired you to pursue a career in make-up artistry?

I have always been artistic and creative. As a teen, I didn't really wear make-up but had a huge bag full of it and used to do everyone else's. I knew I'd pursue a career in it.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

The reaction you get when people see their transformation. You can see light, happiness and confidence coming into their faces; I love it.

When you’re not beautifying people, what is your favourite thing to do in your free time?

Being with my husband and two sons Max and Hugo. And if they're not free, I'll shop for make-up!

You always manage to look super glam; what are your beauty secrets?!

A good curl and pin to make my hair style last well. I'm obsessed with old Hollywood glamour and a quiff in my fringe. Another essential part of my routine is false tan.

What is the biggest beauty no-no?

Not having the perfect brow. You really have no excuse from HD brows to Phi-brows or brands like Benefit and Sleek cosmetics, there are so many products available and so many excellently trained artists to help teach you.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of pursuing a career in make-up or beauty?

Do a business course along with your make-up course. Make-up is booming and you'll find masterclasses and tutorials everywhere. If you are business minded on top of having a talent, that will take you far.

Snapchat or Instastories?

Ooooh, so I'm still loving SnapChat for the filters but Instastory is fun too. I can't choose yet.

What do you think are the biggest trends we will see in make-up in 2018?

The biggest trend I think we'll see in 2018 is skin. Skin is in, skin health is vital and we are slowly but surely being educated on it. I think foundation will be pared back and become more natural. Contour will soften as well, thankfully.

We’re so excited that you will be joining us at Professional Beauty Ireland. Tell us more about what you’ll be doing at the show.

I'm so excited too! I will be on stage discussing my dos and don’ts in make-up. Giving insight into 2018 trends and discussing some of my favourite "make-up you can't live without" items available at the show.

Where can we find out more about the services you offer?

You can find out more about me and my services on www.mrsmakeup.ie

Michelle will be demonstrating on the Live Stage at Professional Beauty Ireland on Monday 25 September.
