Spa to open at new Sunderland College campus
A spa has been announced for the new Sunderland College campus in the UK.
The 12,500sq m city centre campus, which will house the college’s vocational courses, will open in the spring of 2016, with the spa scheduled for completion in September 2016.
The spa, which has been designed by sauna and steam room specialists Dalesauna, will feature a sauna, a salt and an aromatherapy steam room, a rasul mud treatment room, an ice feature, experience showers, heated loungers, a reflexology walk and an overflow pool.
Treatments offered will include hot stone, reflexology, deep tissue and Indian head massages. Skincare brand Dermalogica and aesthetic machine brand Caci will be used at the spa.
Gerard McCarthy, sales director at DaleSauna: "We have designed a spa that can not only deliver the requirements of the NVQ Level 3 spa therapy curriculum, but also compares favourably to some of the finest hotel spas around."
The vocational courses taught at the new campus will include beauty, hair and barbering, among others. The campus will have space for up to 2,000 students.
