Pinterest’s Summer 2026 Trend Report has revealed the latest beauty, skincare and wellness trends, with smoky eye makeup, shimmer skin, SPF-focused routines and sporty social styling set to dominate this summer

Visual discovery engine Pinterest has unveiled its Summer 2026 Trend Report, revealing how sport-inspired aesthetics are shaping beauty trends across the UK and globally. According to the report, created in collaboration with Pinterest and clothing brand Levi's, consumers are increasingly blending athletic influences with beauty, makeup and lifestyle choices, creating what the platform describes as a “sport-luxe” summer mood.

Drawn from Pinterest search activity across more than 600 million monthly active users worldwide, the report highlights rising demand for smoky eye makeup, sweatproof beauty products, shimmer finishes and SPF-focused skincare routines, alongside sporty-inspired interiors, event aesthetics and social beauty experiences.

For beauty professionals, including makeup artists, facialists and nail technicians, the data offers insight into the aesthetics clients are likely to request throughout summer 2026, particularly around festival beauty, sports-event glam, “on-the-go” skincare and nostalgic 1990s-inspired makeup looks.

Winning Glam makeup trend: smoky eyes and frosted finishes return

One of the report’s biggest beauty movements is “Winning Glam”, a sports-inspired makeup trend centred around smudged smoky eyes, frosted textures and high-shine finishes. Pinterest describes the look as “high-energy, a little sweaty, and intentionally lived-in”.

Searches for “smoky eyes makeup” increased by 1,522%, while “eye butterfly makeup” rose by 106% and “frosted makeup” searches climbed by 97%. Interest in nostalgic makeup aesthetics also continues to grow, with “90s blue eyeshadow look” searches increasing by 81% and “smudged eyeliner aesthetic” up 76%.

Pinterest also reported increases in searches for “red glitter eye makeup” (+47%) and “face gems makeup” (+14%), suggesting clients are looking for festival-ready and nightlife-inspired finishes that transition from daytime events into evening social occasions.

For professional makeup artists, the trend points towards softer, blended eye looks rather than precision graphic liner, with shimmer textures and playful embellishments likely to influence seasonal service menus and editorial work.

SPF-first skincare and “On-The-Go Glow” dominate summer beauty trends

Pinterest’s report also highlights a growing consumer focus on portable, reapplicable skincare and makeup routines under the “On-The-Go Glow” trend. According to the platform, “reapplication culture, SPF-first routines, and bag-ready beauty are defining summer 2026”.

Searches for “glowy skin routine” increased by 216%, while “sweatproof makeup” rose by 180%. SPF-related interest also continued to grow, with “fluid sunscreen” searches increasing by 110%, “minimalist sunscreen” up 102% and “dry skin sunscreen cream” rising by 30%.

Pinterest said consumers are increasingly looking for “quick, durable layers” and “soft shine” finishes that can be reapplied throughout the day, particularly during sports weekends, festivals and after-work social events.

For skin clinics and facialists, the trend reinforces ongoing demand for education around SPF layering, lightweight summer skincare and skin protection products suitable for active lifestyles. The emphasis on portability and convenience may also influence retail strategies, with minis, stick formats and travel-friendly skincare products likely to remain commercially relevant.

Sport-luxe aesthetics could influence salon and spa interiors

Beyond beauty products, the report suggests wider opportunities for salons, spas and clinics to incorporate sport-luxe styling into interiors, retail displays and summer event concepts.

Pinterest identified rising interest in “Courtside and Coastal Prep”, a trend inspired by tennis clubs, padel culture and coastal leisure aesthetics. The look combines crisp whites, soft neutrals, green accents and striped detailing with relaxed but polished styling.

Searches for “stripe shirt outfits women” rose by 1,962%, while “white blazer outfits for women” increased by 466% and “polo striped shirt outfit” searches climbed by 393%.

Pinterest also highlighted growing interest in nostalgic sports styling and “Sports-Luxe Street Style”, with searches for “Formula 1 aesthetic outfit” increasing by 483%.

For beauty businesses hosting summer launches, VIP evenings or client experiences, these aesthetics could inform visual merchandising, treatment room styling, campaign shoots and event design.

Pinterest says sport is becoming a “cultural language”

According to Pinterest, the wider trend reflects how sport is increasingly influencing not only fashion and beauty choices, but also identity, social connection and self-expression. The report states that people are “drawing on the visual codes of sport, from team colours and bold graphics to performance details, and remixing them into everyday style, beauty, and entertainment”.

Pinterest added that sport-inspired style is becoming “a shared source of identity, creativity, and connection”, with sporty aesthetics now moving fluidly “from the sidelines into street style”.

How Pinterest compiled the Summer 2026 Trend Report

Pinterest said the Summer 2026 Trend Report was created using internal Pinterest search data from global users and UK search activity comparisons between March 2025 and March 2026. The platform analysed trends across more than 600 million monthly active users worldwide.

The report was published in partnership with Levi’s as part of the brands’ UK “Off-Duty Summer Denim” collaboration.
