St. Tropez Instant Tan recalled over safety fears

 

St. Tropez has issued a safety recall to its retailers and online stores for its Instant Tan Wash Off Face & Body Spray cans.

The recall comes after a small number of customers experienced breathing problems after accidently inhaling the spray when applying it.

st tropThe Instant Tan Wash Off Face & Body Spray (100ml) was launched seven weeks ago as part of a campaign which was promoted by British model Kate Moss.

The recall notice issued on the tanning brands website, said: “As a precautionary measure we have decided to initiate a voluntary recall of the product. We have asked our retailers to implement this with immediate effect whilst we carry out a full review.”

It adds: “When concerns are raised about any of our products, we adopt a responsible and proactive approach…. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our customers and offer our reassurances that these actions are taken as a precaution while we fully investigate the situation.”

PZ Cussons the company that owns the British tanning brand has invited any customers who have purchased the product to cease using it and return it to where they purchased it from for a full refund.

The notice states that St Tropez Instant Tan Wash Off Face and Body Lotion (100ml) is not affected by the voluntary recall.
