The Swan Hotel & Spa receives £7m spa investment
The BH Group is investing £7m into The Swan Hotel & Spa, based in Newby Bridge, Cumbria to upgrade its spa into a luxury destination in the North West.
Owned by the BH Group, the hotel will be receiving the investment in order to transform its current offering into a luxury spa.
The investment will allow the Lake District hotel to expand its spa facilities, with plans including thermal rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, relaxation areas and luxurious treatment rooms, which will offer tailored treatments for guests.
The multi-million pound renovation will see 30 additional hotel rooms built and will also include a café serving champagne, which will be a child-free zone.
The development will create 20 full and part time jobs, as well as an apprenticeship programme, and is expected to be complete by summer 2021.
“The Swan is an established favourite in the Lakes, this investment really gives us the opportunity to build on its success so it can reach its full potential as a world-class spa resort,” says James Houlston, managing director of BH Group.
"The proposed extension will really take the hotel to the next level, so that we can deliver that ultimate top class, luxury experience,” he added.
Sarah Gibbs, managing director of The Swan, said, “We can’t wait for the renovations to get under way, we have some incredible plans and I think guests are going to be blown away when we get to reveal it all next year.
"The Lake District is already one of the most popular destinations in the UK and there’s definitely a growing market for a luxury spa resort here, and we’re more than happy to be the ones that can offer this.
“We have a fantastic team here and we are excited to grow it alongside these developments.”
