VTCT to introduce new beauty, nails, spa and complementary therapies qualifications

Awarding organisation VTCT is to add 13 new beauty Tech Level qualifications to its course offer starting in September this year. The new qualifications have been submitted to the Department of Education to be included in the 2018 Performance Tables for qualifications in the tech level category.

The new qualifications are:

VTCT Tech Levels are level 3 post-16 vocational qualifications designed to lead to specific roles in the industry – in this case beauty, nails, spa and complementary therapies. The content is “specifically designed to maximise career opportunities” and a selection of optional units are available in each.

There is one exam per qualification and practical unit grading throughout. While no formal entry requirements exist for the courses, VTCT advises that learners will ideally hold a level 2 qualification or equivalent in the aforementioned fields.

All of the qualifications are developed with on-going input from employers, professional associations and key industry stakeholders.
