The JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Venice, located on Venice’s 40-acre manmade Sacca Sessola island, is set to include a 1,000sq metre waterfront spa.
Scheduled to open at the same time as the hotel, at the end of 2014, the spa is being developed by consultant and management company Goco Hospitality and will feature cosmeceutical facials, male grooming treatments and classical spa experiences.
Set against the backdrop of the Piazza San Marco, the Goco Spa will provide water views. Amenities at the spa will include a wet area and a fitness centre, with pop-up treatment sites also appearing in different locations on the island during the summers.
Ingo Schweder, chief executive of Goco Hospitality, said of the development: “The Goco Spa marries Italian sensibility and passion for life with modern architecture and design. We are bringing something unique to the city and giving wellness a fresh face.”
The spa is being designed by Milan architecture firm Matteo Thun & Partners and will be the second Goco managed spa in Europe, following the opening of The Spa at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in February this year.
