#PBLive (June 20): injectables ban for under 18s and the fight against beauty packaging

A call for new aesthetic regulations and the beauty industry’s responsibility to join the war on single-use plastics were the hot topics this week.
In this week’s #PBLive, editor Eve Oxberry (left) and deputy editor Amanda Pauley (right) give you the lowdown on the latest aesthetic treatments debate, with health experts calling for the UK Government to ban injectables for under 18s.
The Royal Society for Public Health is demanding non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as botox and filler be illegal for those under the age of 18, especially in light of TV programmes such as Love Island making the procedures popular with teenagers.
The team also discussed the latest eco initiative to hit the beauty market, explaining how department store John Lewis is encouraging customers to recycle beauty empties with its new in-store scheme, as well as discussing the issue of well-washing in the spa industry and whether it has become too much.
