Adrian Bridge, chief executive of Portugal’s award-winning The Yeatman hotel, gives us a preview of his Best Practice session at the 2014 Professional Spa & Wellness Convention
What will you be speaking about as part of the Best Practice session at the convention?
As chief executive of The Yeatman, which won Hotel Spa of the Year: Europe for the Caudalie Vinothérapie Spa at this year’s World Spa & Wellness Awards, I will bring insight into what we did at The Yeatman to deliver a world-class spa. I will discuss the planning and design, as well as the decision to partner with Caudalie. I will also be talking about building the business from scratch over the last three years and about important developments for the future.
What do you hope will emerge from this session?
The purpose of a best practice session is to give delegates ideas that they can take home and implement. The session should therefore stimulate thoughts that they can easily put in place. The hospitality and the spa and wellness industries are both about detail, detail, detail and our clients are becoming more sophisticated and more experienced. They know what they want and what they like – which means they can see through any activity that is not authentic.
