The luxury Capella Hotel Group is opening a new Bali resort, the Rimba Jimbaran, in September. Located on the grounds of the existing, 77-hectare, Ayana Resort and Spa, the property will comprise 297 rooms and suites.
Rimba, which means ‘forest’ in Indonesian, has been created in accordance with sustainable design principles and will feature several tree plantations, organic fruit and vegetable gardens and an on-site greenhouse.
Sustainable materials have been used throughout the property. Examples include furniture made from packing crates and other recycled material, environmentally friendly guestroom features such as bathroom facilities constructed from recycled glass and the driftwood and recycled wood design elements in the lobby. The resort will also harvest rainwater and boast its own water recycling plant.
Rimba will include a one-hectare multi-tiered swimming pool area, comprised of a main pool and a children’s pool. A spa, containing six rooftop treatments rooms and with products and treatments by Thermes Marins, will be located on the premises and guests will also have access to the Ayana spa. Amenities at the Ayana spa include 36 treatment rooms, spa on the rocks treatment villas and the world’s largest Aquatonic seawater therapy pool.
Horst Schulze, chairman of the Capella group, said: This is not just a good hotel, this is truly a world-class hotel, it's right at the very top." There will be a range of dining options at Rimba, from Ah-Yat Abalone, the largest Chinese restaurant in Indonesia, and gourmet bakery To’ge to rooftop bar Unique and the pool bar. The hotel facilities will also include a cooking school.
