Marsala named Pantone colour of 2015

Dusky wine shade marsala has been named Pantone’s top colour trend for 2015.

The colour matching specialist reveals a top trend pic every year, with 2014’s shade being the pink-lilac shade radiant orchid and 2013 dominated by emerald.

Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman said Marsala was set to serves as the foundation to the Spring/Summer 2015 palette.

She said the shade was “interesting on its own and a wonderful contrast for other hues,” adding, “Sensual and bold, delicious Marsala is a daringly inviting tone that nurtures; exuding confidence…Its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness.”

Keep an eye out for this red-brown tone in next year’s professional make-up and nail colour launches.
