Public consultation for EU non-surgical treatments legislation
The European Committee of Standardisation will hold a public consultation on the new draft European Standard dealing with non-surgical aesthetic treatments in early 2015, it has announced.
This will be the third public consultation held for the Standard, titled “Aesthetic medicine services – Non-surgical medical procedures”, and will take place throughout Europe. The Standard covers treatments including injectables, chemical peels, and laser treatments.
The consultation invites comments from both the general public and interested professional bodies.
The European Standard is separate from the work being carried out by Health Education England to develop a new training framework for non-surgical procedures in the UK, which was commissioned in the wake of the 2013 Keogh Review.
