Beauty bookings platform Wahanda rebrands to Treatwell
Hair and beauty bookings website Wahanda will rebrand to be known as of yesterday
The rebrand is part of a strategy to unify the company under one platform following its acquisitions of several similar bookings sites in recent years. Treatwell is the name of a Dutch bookings site Wahanda acquired in June and will now be used as the name to rebrand UK site Wahanda and all other brands the group owns internationally.
In 2015 Wahanda expanded into 10 European countries. Its recent acquisitions of overseas companies include Salonmeister, Beautycheck and Lemon Labs. In May, Wahanda sold majority share in the group to investor Recruit Holdings.
Lopo Champalimaud, founder of Wahanda and chief executive of the newly named Treatwell group, said: “As we continue to pursue our global ambitions, it makes sense to operate under one brand. Rebranding to Treatwell has given our company a fresh new brand identity and tone of voice."
The platform will now launch The Treatment Files, a new editorial area that will offer weekly ideas, showcase stylists, therapists and beauty experts, and aim to help consumers find the best treatment and services for their needs. Champalimaud said he believed this service would give the brand “a more emotional connection with customers”. It will be run by editorial director Liz Hambleton, former Grazia beauty director.
The website will also be launching salon software to the UK market in the summer. The company will be unveiling product developments to its diary and client management system, which will see the addition of a point of sale functionality, resource management capability and improved email marketing. Treatwell aims to expand into 20 countries in the next five years.
