7,621 people took part in PB World for three days of online networking

Professional Beauty Group hosted its first-ever online event PB World in September, which brought together 7,621 beauty, spa, aesthetic and hair professionals for three days of networking and knowledge-sharing. 

The event, which ran on September 8–10, connected industry professionals, distributors and brands across the world, helping the industry share ideas during this time of social distancing. 
As well as the many networking opportunities available, PB World played host to a first-class educational programme, with six different streams for every sector of the market – Salon Business Conference; Hair & Beauty Workshops; Aesthetic Medicine; World Spa & Wellness; Cosmetics, Ingredients & Packaging International; and the International Manufacturers & Distributors Forum. 
Some amazing beauty speakers were involved, including West Room Aesthetics founder Dija Ayodele, who spoke about how to launch a specialist salon or clinic; and Hellen Ward, managing director of Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa, on how to increase profit during coronavirus. 
Professional Beauty Group managing director Mark Moloney said, “Our first online expo was really fun and educational, but also extremely challenging. 
“We developed a new platform and there was so much information, chat and video calls being made at the same time that the system couldn’t keep up. I’m proud of my team for launching this platform but I’m sorry that the site kept some people waiting a long time. 
“We’re already in the process of making upgrades and will have a much stronger online event on February 28–March 2, 2021. Online will never replace face-to-face but PB World will play its part in keeping the industry updated and informed.”
